Author Visit

Tomorrow evening, we shall be welcoming Akhtar Hussain, author of “Spotlight on Multicultural Britain”, to the Manchester Muslim Writers. His latest publication is a collection of essays that are quite wide-ranging in their subject matter. He originally wrote the essays as a part of a series of articles for The News, which is the English language section of the British Urdu newspaper, the Daily Jang.

Background

Akhtar Hussain is a remarkable writer; he is an experienced historian and short-story writer who writes extensively on a number of subjects. He trained as an accountant and brings an eye-for-detail to his writing; meticulous and controlled, he enables the reader to access the perception of communities that would often remain silent.

This is the first time Akhtar Hussain is visiting the Manchester Muslim Writers. We believe that it will certainly not be the last visit and look forward to opening our doors to the general public tomorrow evening at Chorlton Library.
